From August 25 to September 18
Flâneur – New Urban Narratives returns home. On August 25 at 22h the opening.

Experiencing the city may be a philosophical exercise, probably not with the same meaning of the street wandering of the âneur of the 1900’s, but in an updated sense, attempting to reinterpret a territory that, as time went by, became increasingly more dif cult to grasp globally. European and a slightly peripheral city, Lisbon is a case full of singularities. As a geographical and social territory, it’s a case study worth analysing and documenting, in search of the other faces of the city, its idiosyncrasies and peculiarities, in order to conjecture its future.
Príncipe Real Garden is the place where, between August 25th and September 18th, there’ll be shown the work produced by Jens Masmann (DE) and Sonia Hamza (FR), during their Flâneur Artistic Residencies in Lisbon in June, curated by Nuno Salgado. Later on there’ll be organised a day of talks and complementary activities at Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa (Rua do Século, 79): Talks with artists involved in the project; Discussion panels on the Photobook while a support for flânerie; Presentation of the essays book result of the Lisbon Conference that marked the starting of the project; visits to the exhibitions.
After 16 months of work, a European tour including artistic residencies and interventions in the public space in London, Paris, Hamburg, Dublin, Lodz, Mansfield, Cortona, Riga, Kuldiga, Olot, the work of 25 photographers from 11 countries, Flâneur – New Urban Narratives returns home.
